Oh rubbish. For a start I subscribe to W and used to get Harper's Bazaar and Italian Vogue when Fabien Baron was art director so I am "interested" in the subject. But I'm more interested in good design and engaging content, whether it be a great fashion spread with beautiful typography or a long literary essay.

This looks to be another of those fashion glossies I see on the newsstand and think "ooh, nice cover!" but then pick it up and the insides are full of pointless arty fashion photos with ugly models and absolutely nothing to read.

But I could be wrong.

I think this might not be the cover though. I heard they shot Courtney Love which would make sense for name of the magazine. At least Katy etc try to do something different. Good luck to them.

This one page is very post-war Britain; the young Elizabeth, the fonts reminiscent of Festival of Britain. Austerity time – feels right for today in that respect.

I think the coverlines font and general style is lovely, looks like 1940s Vogue. Be nice if they actually had the logo carved and shot (what credit crunch?!)

re: UK Wired - has it been put back? I know they've just finished the dummy issue which was never intended for newsstands..

the ironic beveled logo is a nice touch but i'm going to have to agree with the captain on this one, this new title seems completely absurd

if this isn't a flaming beacon for conde nast's inability to see a new direction in light of our - let's say - worldly issues, i don't know what is

fashion and fame?

Sorry - didnt mean to get so angry! but the prospect of another darn fashion magazine made me mad. I'm sure it'll have some interesting stuff in though. Lee and Stuart really are (through gritted teeth) great with mags.
