Mio’s diary
Excuse me while I go off at a slight tangent and mention a book that has only the slightest relation to magazines.
Mio Matsumoto, the Japanese creator of the award-winning drawings on the front cover of the Colophon2007 ‘We Love Magazines’ book, has just had her first book published by Jonathan Cape. ‘My Diary’ records her discovery of, and subsequent recovery from, tongue cancer. Not a light topic, but her beautiful line style and slightly off-beat English text make it a compelling experience. Buy it here.
