Mr Magazine goes on holiday: ‘No lap tops and no Kindles in sight… miles and miles of sandy beaches filled with folks on vacation armed with… books, magazines and newspapers’.

Next month, Borders closes five London stores including its Oxford Street branch. That one branch was renowned across London’s publishing community as a key source of smaller and independent publications. Who will step into the gap this closure leaves?
Claims that photographer Carl Fisher, who shot many of George Lois’s iconic US Esquire covers, was the brains behind the covers, not Lois. Listen to audio at around 18 minutes (thanks James).

As I don’t live in London anymore I was wondering, are the two newsagents on Old Compton Street still there? I think one was called Moroni’s where you could buy things like the A1 size Manipulator.
