The Colophon2009 Magazine

The Colophon2009 Magazine is revealed at tonight’s launch party in Luxembourg. Here’s a preview.

It seemed a crazy idea to make an 108-page maagzine in the space of three days, but editor Kati Krause and art director Guido Kruger and their team of ten managed it, along with help from over 80 visitors to Colophon2009. Nothing was planned in advance excpet a loose grid system based on my identity for the event. The team got together on Friday afternoon, commissioned artworks, photography and words over the weekends, and got all pages designed in time for the final press conference at the end of Sunday. Some feat.
Flash-pass holders will be sent their copies shortly; meanwhile an online version will be available soon.

Very impressive! Not bashed out either, it looks like a lot of thought has gone into these pages.

[...] Book and editorial — If you are interested in book covers and editorial in general, there is nice project called «Daily book graphic»: «Everyday I post some sort of graphic element from a book that I own. My plan is to do this for a year – February 21, 2009 to February 21, 2010.» — On Eye mag blog there is an interesting review about «Fully Booked» compared to the Tschichold’s classic «The Form of the Book» from 1975, demonstrating how good and up-to-date the latter still is. — The Colophon magazine, created by magazine makers from around the world in just 48 hours at the Colophon International Independent Magazines Biannale, is out now. If you can’t grab a copy, there is a full on-line version. More about it on magCulture. [...]
