Christmas for fashionistas: Twin
Twin is the new magazine from Rebecca Smith, previously creative director at Lula. The first issue has just been published and comes as a large-format hardback book – think sketchbook crossed with portfolio. It even has traditional patterned endpapers inside the cover.
The content is mainly high-end fashion mixed with art reportage. Not a unique combination but the key here is quality – the team make a strong claim for substance over style and achieve that by using low-key design, relying on image and words to do the work. Plus thick paper stock and decent printing. It’s a great first issue from a new independent publisher – I look forward to next year’s issues.

I guess it does have a hardcover so it must be worth the post. Not.
