Tweek, tweek, tweek

Spotted some changes here?

I’m pleased to say the site design has been updated with real webfonts including a new text font (Chronicle) and is responsive so will be much improved when viewed on your smartphone or iPad. Everything should be as it was but better – let me know if you spot any glitches.

Thanks to Dan Rowden (the man behind MagPile) for his work on the project.

Nice work chaps – looks great.

The word is “tweak.”

Webfonts are nice, but paragraphs without indents separated by blank lines are atrocities from Microsoft Word, not “typography.”

Thanks Luke.

And thanks Joe. It’s what’s known as a ‘pun’, admittedly a dreadful one. I was tweeting at the same time.

Like them or not, linebreaks instead of indents existed long before Mr Gates included them in his often typographically atrocious program.

They also existed here before this latest set of tweaks.

I think line breaks without indents are perfectly acceptable, desirable even, on scrolling text. And the new fonts are cool too.

On my iPhone, the comments don’t break, and there’s no way for me to scroll to the side, so I can’t read half of them. Also, for some reason, the new text font’s more readable on mobile than on desktop (I’m seeing artifacts)…

Thanks Henrik. I think that’s the iPhone’s Retina screen. Comments a more serious problem, to be resolved.

Nice tweaks.

Comments resolved. Any other tweaks to note?
