Front cover histories

The National Magazine Cover Archive features scans of front covers from an eclectic bunch of magazines. As well as classics like French Vogue and Fortune there are more recent titles like The Wire. Best thing is that you get to view a visual history of each titles' covers showing how each has changed and developed. Anyone remember Harpers' Bazaar's misplaced logo change in the nineties?

Some good commentaries too, sample: "These are dark days for magazine design with homogenisation and closure of many well known (and loved) titles. Have you noticed how bland, safe and banal our newstands have been looking lately?"

Thanks to Aaron Moodie for forwarding me the link.
