Rick Poynor looks at Motif magazine, Ruari McLean and James Shand’s ‘periodical for which the visible world exists’. It ran for 13 issues between 1958 and 1967, covering what today we would casually describe as visual culture but which at the time was a rare combination of fine and applied arts.
