+Rosebud, named after the symbolic toboggan in the movie 'Citizen Kane', explores the possibilities of what a magazine can be. To date each issue has been in the format of a hardback book, or as its publisher and co-art director explains, 'We are not sure whether it is a book or a magazine. It might be classified a 'bookazine'. Issue four includes the views of 47 contributors on the theme 'Action'. In addition to the main, large-format volume there is a 40x30mm corner piece that pulls out from the main body to become a tiny flip book featuring illustrations of a girl skipping. Another interactive element is a poster printed in a flat red tint with instructions to stick it in a sunny location for one year before returning it to +Rosebud for publication.
