Pace section / Miser & Now example

Miser & Now (UK, Issue 2, 2004)
*

Miser & Now is an art magazine published in London by the Keith Talent Gallery. Its page design and typography is by necessity simple and functional to avoid conflicting with the wide variety of content that includes photography, painting, sculpture and writing. What holds this mix of material together as a single entity is the use of strong background colour on every page.

In a printing tour de force this background colour changes spread by spread, working through the colour chart starting with white pages at the front and moving through yellow to orange, red, brown, purple, blue and ending as pale blue. This gradual change in colour from spread to spread is a perfect measure of change as the reader flicks through the magazine.
