Walker Art Centre

Graphic Design – Now in production is a major survey of the last ten years in graphic design, with particular focus on the growth in self-production and self-publication by designers.

Reflecting this theme, curators Andrew Blauvelt (Walker Art Centre) and Ellen Lupton (Cooper Hewitt) invited several design bloggers to guest-curate their areas of interest, with magCulture’s Jeremy Leslie overseeing the magazine section of the show. Preparing the exhibition took a year, as themes were developed, items tracked down and texts written.

Jeremy visited the Walker Art Centre in Minneapolis to help with final preparations for the show and attend the opening party and dinner. The huge show – over 10,000 square feet – will tour the US over the next couple of years, starting next June in New York at the Copper Hewitt.
