After the deep black 19th issue, the new Acne Paper is bright yellow, with a gold foil logo and shiny gold page edges announcing the theme ‘Golden.’ In part marking the 20th birthday of the magazine, the colour is also ‘a reflection on a creative project that, at least for us, is worth its weight in gold,’ according to the team.

The issue opens with an illustrated history of man’s obsession with gold. Beyond that, you’ll find another rich mix of commissioned photography and archive imagery. Jewellery, sculptures, fashion and taxonomies feature, plus magazine maven Elise by Elson interviews Interview magazine founder Bob Colacello.

Originally created to help lift the Acne Jeans brand in support of its metamorphosis into a full-on fashion label, the first 15 issues of Acne Papers came in a tabloid-format with a timeless, classic editorial design. This new format is quite different—smaller pages but chunkier—and just as smart as the original issues.
