‘The journal of design’
Quarterly Disegno is devoted to exploring the many facets of design and its impact on the world today. After a few issues of their more recently launched supplementary publication Design Reviewed, the core magazine returns to our shelves with issue #39—a compilation of ‘short stories about survival and design.’
Inside, editor Oli Stratford kicks things off with a tribute to the courage of the sea cucumber, followed by features on a market in Altiplano, architecture for cows in India, kaleidoscopic pâte de verre windows, colonial chairs, Accra's abandoned buildings, and a non-hierarchical team sport designed by Gabriel Fontana.
On the Journal:
‘In his introduction to the magazine, editor Oli Stratford admits that his own definition of the word ‘design’ is fractured; ‘What even is design? To tell you the truth, we at Disegno have no idea.’ Disegno generates content that looks at the impact of design both artistically and politically, and not just at the ins and outs of how things are made.’ READ MORE
