'It is written in English, but its heart French'
The international travel and style review lets us imagine the holidays of our dreams. Relaunched by Paris-based creative director Franck Durand in 2014 after a 37-year hiatus, Holiday is a modern classic built on its '50s heyday.
Given the tragic earthquakes striking Turkey and Syria earlier this year, producing this issue, devoted to Istanbul, was understandably more complex than before. As editor Marc Beaugé writes:
'Initially, we thought of dropping it altogether out of respect and the fear of not finding the right words or seeming too frivolous considering the extend of the tragedy. Then, as the days went by, and we talked to people on the spot in Turkey who had been affected either directly or indirectly by the tragedy, it became obvious that we should do the opposite."
