Launched last year at a critical juncture in eastern Europe, A Shade Colder offers a nuanced look into Estonian art and beyond, with a collection of stories that deal with and address the complexities of colonial history, geopolitics and identity within Estonian art and beyond. It’s a spectacular piece of editorial design too.

This first issue is themed ‘The Eyes of My Other’ and features Sonya Isupova, Linda Kaljundi, Andreas Kalkun, Piret Karro, Brit Pavelson, Shola von Reinhold, Hanna Samoson and Jan Verwoert.

As mentioned on the belly band, A Shade Colder is donating 50% of its sales from this first issue to the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Estonia.
