Printing Fashion #2

240 x 330 mm, 116 pages
Paris, France  (French and English-language)
Editors-in-chief: Justin Morin and Marco Pecorari
Art direction: Monica Fraile Morisson

Published and produced by students on the Fashion Studies MA at The New School Parsons, Paris, in collaboration with Justin Morin and Marco Pecorari at the university, and graphic designer Monica Fraile Morisson. Printing Fashion is a must-read for anybody interested in the role of the magazine today.

This second issue explores the idea of ‘Values’, continuing their materialistic perspective on magazine-making and publication (something the cover image consolidates). For them, ‘to question value means to consider the landscape and multiple trajectories in the making of a magazine.’

One of the immediately interesting features this time around is found toward the beginning of the publication: 'Calculating the value of a magazine' by Ayaka Kitagawa.

In it, Kitagawa proposes a mathematical equation for determining the value of a magazine according to six different factors including 'monetary value, human value and rarity'. E=magCulture²?
