‘Cutting edge photography’
This longrunning, well-respected photography publication is (in its current form) a gorgeous little thing. Bookish in size and appearance, it's neat, highly visual (as you'd expect), and its carefully curated imagery is immediately alluring.
For this latest edition, the theme is ‘To Be Young,’ inviting its eighteen featured photographers to explore their relationship to the past through the mnemonic medium of photographic documentation. As Melissa DeWitt writes in her editor’s letter, this issue’s theme ‘encompasses something different for each of us’ but is also universal: ‘we yearn to document the moments that will soon be lost and gone forever.’
Featuring the work of Judith Black, Mark Steinmetz, Dawoud Bey, Hannah Modigh, Angela Hill, Sally Mann, Claudine Doury, Ewen Spencer, Matthew Genitempo, Andrea Modica, Doug DuBois, Raymond Meeks, Bill Henson, David Sorrenti, Thomas Boivin, Mike Brodie and Joji Hashiguchi. Plus, Jason Lazarus’ project NIRVANA is the focus of this issue’s ‘Crude Metaphors’ segment.
