Paul Gorman walks us through Print! Tearing It Up

This morning the doors open on Print! Tearing It Up, a new free exhibition at Somerset House in London featuring a display of British independent magazines from the last 100 years.

I got a preview of the show earlier this week, meeting co-curator Paul Gorman on site to hear how it came about and his take on the contemporary indie scene. He talked me through the rooms picking highlights and sharing his thoughts.

Listen here:

The exhibition is a must-see for anybody interested in independent magazine publishing; the historical context for today’s booming scene is invaluable. We’ll review it here more fully soon, but for now enjoy Paul’s introduction.

Print! Tearing It Up runs until 22 August in the Terrace Rooms at Somerset House.
Mon, Tue, Sat & Sun 10.00 - 18.00, Wed - Fri 11.00 - 20.00.
Curated by Claire Caterall, senior curator at Somerset House, and Paul Gorman, writer and curator.
