Alvento #39

230 x 310 mm, 176 pages
Piverone, Italy (English-language)
Bimonthly
Published since 2018
Editorial director: Davide Marta

The Italian cycling title Alvento takes a people-centric approach to the sport by celebrating those who have ‘chosen bikes as a means of expressing themselves.’ As for the name? It's Italian for ‘in the wind,’ its many uses in cycling (and everyday) chat outlined on the final page of the magazine.

Previously published exclusively in Italian, this 39th issue is their third edition aiming to ‘go a bit further’ by publishing in English. With their content—profiling cyclists, covering races, and sharing two-wheeled journeys from around the world—the magazine aims to remain firmly Italian, with this international version translating all the same features from the original Italian edition.

In this issue: The Alvento team tackle the upcoming Tour de France route over the Mount Ventoux from all three sides, explore the new Nova Eroica Istria route commencing from Novigrad, and pedal through the wild terrain of Shardana/Sardinia. Plus, road racer Chris Froome on his challenging career, Pietro and Maria Rosa Santini give a history of their namesake renowned cycling gear provider and the Decathlon Ag2r la Mondiale team on the first three stages of the Giro in Albania.
