'A journal devoted to design and its impact on the world'

Quarterly Disegno is devoted to exploring the many facets of design and its impact on the world today.

Autumn 2023's issue opens with editor Oli Stratford opining cosmetic scuffs in his new bike - an example and illustration of the ‘scourge of perfection’ that he calls both seductive and misleading. Throughout the issue, contributors write around this theme, such as a slow design lighting collection versus Tik Tok copycats, the radically unfinished buildings in Tokyo following natural disasters, and navigating the uncertainty of using recycled materials.

On the Journal:
‘In his introduction to the magazine, editor Oli Stratford admits that his own definition of the word ‘design’ is fractured; ‘What even is design? To tell you the truth, we at Disegno have no idea.’ Disegno generates content that looks at the impact of design both artistically and politically, and not just at the ins and outs of how things are made.’ READ MORE
