Glory #9, Portugal

210 x 270 mm, 168 pages
Norwich, UK
Editor: Andy Lawn
Designer: Lee Nash

Each issue of Glory travels to a different country to document local and alternative football scenes, hoping to put the ‘beautiful' back into the beautiful game along the way.

Focused on Portugal this issue, Glory editors talk about the small country’s outsized impact on football, both at home and globally. Although Portugal's total population is less than London’s, it has produced many professional players, gained an underdog win at the European Championship, and developed a burgeoning women’s team. Unlike previous issues—they include Faroe Islands, Switzerland, Ireland—there’s a rich vein of history and success to draw on, but this one looks further than the obvious teams and names.

This along with all the best advice for where to eat, drink, and sleep for your own trip to Portugal in this latest issue.
