Overseas takes basketball as its linchpin and through it explores the diverse cultures and people who play it across Europe and further afield. In their own words: ‘Overseas’ mission is to travel simultaneously above and below the surface of the wave of curiosity, to explore minds and souls, to awaken them through basketball.’
We love how the magazine has come into its own, weaving compelling photography with a genuinely international outlook on basketball history and culture. This fourth issue chronicles the history and characters of basketball culture in Georgia, Latvia and Bosnia, supplemented by features on a club empowering young girls from immigrant families in Athens; the rise of the 3x3 format in the Netherlands; Dubai’s basketball expansionism; and Egyptian trailblazer Reem Moussa paving the way for women’s basketball in Cairo.
