A certified magCulture favourite, this is the seventh issue of David McKendrick’s ‘Good News’ magazine, Paperboy. Perfect-bound since the fifth issue, this seventh is particularly sharp with its monochromatic orange, textured cover and black foiled logo.
The theme this time is ‘Spring Clean’ and is ‘the brightest, shiniest issue’ to date. As David writes in his ever-human introductions: ‘Some say a clean house is a sign of a wasted life. Here at Paperboy—your favourite clean living magazine—we say pish to that.’
Oh, and as ever, make sure to turn to the final page for ‘The Last Word’ by Pam Mason — retired laundrette manager, and now, famed typographical artist. Lovely stuff.
On the Journal:
At work with David McKendrick: ‘I don’t want it to sound too basic, but I drew up a wish list of all the great accomplished people I have worked with over the years, and I dreamt a little, and in an old fashioned manner got on the phone, told them about Paperboy, and the idea and begged the question “will you be part of this?” and much to my surprise, everyone seemed up for it.’
