Printing Fashion #3
240 x 330 mm, 130 pages
Paris, France (French and English-language)
Annual
Editors-in-chief: Justin Morin and Marco Pecorari
Art direction: Monica Fraile Morisson
Published and produced by students on the Fashion Studies MA at The New School Parsons, Paris, in collaboration with Justin Morin and Marco Pecorari at the university, and graphic designer Monica Fraile Morisson. Printing Fashion is a must-read for anybody interested in the role of the magazine today.
This third issue digs deep into ‘Transformation’, exploring shifts in publishing practices and the ways in which today's magazine can be reimagined, be it formally or conceptually. As usual, there's a range of insightful pieces; 'Remaking the magazine' is a three-way conversation paying particular attention to inclusivity and hierarchies in fashion publishing, 'Beyond the masthead' offers a glimpse behind-the-scenes at the studio of French female-focussed mag, Gaze, while the MA students experiment with magazines as mise en scène.
Oh, and do have a peek at the 'Bookstores in London' section for some, ahem, familiar magCulture-y shelf action.
