Founded in April 2022 by Kyiv-based photographer Vsevolod Kazarin and Berlin photographer Sebastian Wells, Soлomiya is a visceral printed response to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
It takes form as a folio, documenting the everyday life through the literal and figurative lenses of young independent Ukraines who are ‘paying a huge price for the European integration they seek.‘
Interspersed across the photography, personal essays, collages and more are a series of yellow pages profiling artists, collectives and organisations resisting the occupation, with accompanying QR codes to offer your support. Also, note the subtle decision to end the page count at 24, ‘just as time stopped for many Ukrainians on February 24.’
Featuring Christina Erturk, Sasha Kurmaz, Sonya Marian, Vsevolod Kazarin, Mykola Ridnyi, Andrii Ushytskyi and Sebastian Wells.
