The Modernist #40, kudos
135 x 270 mm, 125 pages
Editor: Ashiya Eastwood
Founding editors: Jack Hale & Eddy Rhead
The Modernist celebrates its 40th issue by launching a new beer named ‘Feierabendbier’—German for after work beer—plus a unique pin featuring the 40 logo based on Jock Kinnear and Margaret Calvert’s British road sign system, itself a modernist icon.
The anniversary issue—themed ‘kudos’— features favourite modernist items selected by a variety of contributors including Jonathan Meades, Elain Harwood, Tim Dunn, our own Jeremy Leslie, Eddy Rhead and Sarah Feeney.
