It is a chateau among hovels in the land of glossy interiors magazines. Despite the luxury advertising and ample dose of villas, manors and modernist rarities, there’s always something about the WoI that feels unaffected by the aspirationalism saturating the pages of its peers.

This November 2026 edition leads with WoI’s annual ‘Art & Antiques’ supplement; this time, it’s a 52-page affair, showcasing a covetable selection of decorative art and homeware, and delivering reports on exhibitions in London and Oxford, including an intimate look at the personal ephemera of 20th century artists at London’s Two Poems Gallery. Elsewhere, Will Ferreira Dyke pays homage to the late artist Barton Beneš, a first-generation AIDS veteran whose curio-filled Greenwich Village studio is now on show at the North Dakota Museum of Modern Art, and a look at the imperfectly preserved Lower East Side loft of Fluxus artists Nam June Paik and partner Shigeko Kubota.

On the Journal
At Work With Emily Tobin: ‘World of Interiors is the original indie mag.
