Fiera is a new magazine that collects together the best new work from the world’s design fairs. Launched by editor Katie Treggiden and magCulture, it provides a unique biannual guide to contemporary design.

The small, book-like publication interviews new designers and examines their working processes as well as offering an opinionated view of the fairs themselves. Katie established her voice via her confessionsofadesigngeek blog, and sees Fiera as a way to broaden her coverage of new designers; for us it’s the perfect way to explore the realities of launching and managing your own magazine.

The design uses a tight structure against which the content pushes; decoration is kept to a minimum, the character coming from the basic elements on the page. We particularly enjoyed using Assa Ariyoshi’s illustrations to balance the product photography.
