Cero #5

260 x 350 mm, 206 pages
New York, US
First published 2021
Quarterly
Editor-in-chief: Jonathan Shia
Creative direction: Graphic Services (Jasmine Holm and Marcus Hollands)

Arts and culture platform (and non-profit) Cero ‘spotlights and supports rising talents with a dedication to the values of creativity, inclusivity, sustainability, and accountability.’

This seventh issue marks a new look for Cero which, after a bit of a gap, returns to our shelves with a redesign. Previously perfect bound, the magazine is now thicker, staple-bound and folio-like, featuring a sharp new masthead and a pared back, classical design inside: ‘Inspired by centuries of book design, our new vision is a celebration of the history of the written word and its impact in collaboration with the dynamic imagery seen in our pages.’

This issue explores the intersections of labour and creativity, in light of the SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood last year, featuring Joan Smalls on the cover.
