295 x 375 mm, 32 pages
Washington, US
First published 2024
Editor: John Jamesen Gould
Art director: Leigh Chandler

The Signal is a new current-affairs platform publishing articles on ‘democratic life, the trend lines shaping it, and the challenges confronting it’. Committed to a decentralised approach, showcasing independent voices from across the country and beyond, this is their second limited-edition print run.

Titled ‘Alternative States’ and created in partnership with the Human Rights Foundation, this issue of The Signal addresses corruption; seeing through the ‘interpretive smog’ of politically biased conspiracies to reveal the more insidious forms of corruption going unchecked. With contributions from Ben Freeman, Miranda Patrucic, Justin Callais and Josh Rudolph, this issue questions the political influence of authoritarian states within the United States, the globally disruptive force of dictatorships and how democracies can be fortified against them.
