Majin Magazine #1

195 x 270 mm, 128 pages
Berlin, Germany
Founder and Editor: Jee Hye Lee
Art Direction and Design: Benedikt Berndt

Majin is a new magazine rooted in the personal experience of growing up as a person of colour in Europe through the lens of fashion and culture. From their position behind the scenes of the fashion industry, Majin’s editors and contributors reveal and critique the industry’s slow progress of becoming inclusive and sustainable. To counteract this narrative, this magazine focuses on local communities and shares talents outside of the fashion capitals.

In this first issue, Asia and the cultural beauty standards are the subjects. Majin asks: 'How has colourism affected people, their self-image and their culture?'
