Named after the sun deity in Basque mythology, Italian biannual Eki devotes itself to ‘those who love and get inspired from light.’ Each issue explores a specific form of light—following night, sun, digital and spiritual, this leathery red fifth edition is all about erotic light. In their words:
‘Light, in erotic art, as the most seductive of lovers, never reveals anything. It stops just a moment before, on the edge of complete revelation. It is precisely in this suspended space, between light and darkness, that the imagination ignites...’
Inside, a collection of painters, photographers, filmmakers and writers share how they use light to shape the erotic in their practices poetic, sensual, of pornographic. You'll also find a handful of inserts scattered throughout, including a foldout poster, a red cellophane photo filter and a heart-stickered envelope containing a poem.
