Zgriptor is an independent journal exploring the intersections between material and digital cultures. It aims to promote discussion around themes of time, labour, technology, community action, communication, and the arts. Dedicated to supporting the work of emerging writers and artists, the journal is published on a rolling basis online, and publishes a print edition once a year.
It has a tight book format with text-forward contents. The latest edition is particularly focused on technologies and/with/in ecologies, blending the man-made and the natural. Kick off with a conversation between a human and AI Gary, a bot pre-dating Chat GPT, and then read on about sound-based scholarship, reconnecting with the landscape, and digging up alternative cultural identities.
