A Line Which Forms a Volume #7

150 x 190mm, 164 pages, ringbound
London, UK
Editors: Yuxin Xiong & Paola ANdrea Sanchez A

A Line Which Forms a Volume is a critical reader and symposium of graphic design-led research that is edited, written, designed and published by participants of the MA Graphic Media Design (MAGMD) course at the London College of Communication (LCC). Each year a different cohort of students work on the title.

With its ASCII-esque vector illustrations foiled onto the cover, this silvery seventh issue explores the role that emotions play within design research, with insights from students and external practitioners alike. In particular, the theme revolves around the notion of affective reading—a way to engage with an increasingly networked and hypermediated world’ and ‘construct ways of living in the future, which are enabled by the bonds created through our emotions.’

Flip to the back for a key to decoding the various emotions illustrated on the front and found inside.
