We’re welcoming 2020 with a brand new event series at the magCulture Shop! Each event will bring together two magazines making waves; one at the very beginning of its print journey, paired with an established indie title with multiple issues under its belt.
First up, we’re taking a deep dive into the world of sport. We’ll hear from Ro Jackson, the brains behind Slowe, a magazine packed with previously untold stories of women in sport, which has recently made the jump into print following success as an online channel. We’ll also be joined by Dan Sandison, editor-in-chief of Mundial magazine, a quarterly football lifestyle magazine initially intended as a one-off, now on its 20th issue and boasting fans the world over.
Both Dan and Ro will present illustrated talks, before we hand over to the audience for a Q&A session, led by magCulture’s Jeremy Leslie. Come armed with your burning questions about carving out successful magazines in print!
Tickets include a 20% discount on both magazines, plus we’ll be serving up delicious beers courtesy of our friends at Five Points Brewing Co before and after the talks. We’ve also upgraded our seating – chairs for all!
Have an idea for your own magazine but can’t get your head around the printing process? Our event partners Park Communications will be on hand to talk through all of your sustainable printing questions!
Thursday 20 February
Doors opens at 6.30pm and the talk will kick off at 7pm followed by an audience Q&A.

We Love… is a monthly series of talks intended to give insight into the process of magazine making. The evenings offer the opportunity to share a beer with fellow magCulturalists and hear a magazine-maker discuss their project in an informal, relaxed atmosphere.
We are unable to provide refunds or transfer tickets.
