‘Reflections on design’
A relatively new design magazine from the people behind Port and edited by writer-curator Deyan Sudjic, you may remember Anima first popping up as a slick sister supplement to Port a few seasons ago, coinciding with Milan's Salone del Mobile. It's now a standalone title, exploring ‘what things mean, as well as how they look’.
This third issue sees the magazine redesigned in a larger, Port-sized format—a distinct departure from the previously compact editions. While missing its metallic accents and foldout covers from before, the new direction is a sharp, glossier affair with plenty of full bleed design imagery to accompany the features.
Inside: profiles of London-based network Black Females in Architecture, data journalist Mona Chalabi, and this year's Venice Biennale curator Carlos Ratti, plus stories on Blackletter revival, Palestinian resistance through design, and whether plastic can truly ever be sustainable.
Plenty here for professionals and enthusiasts alike.
