‘Timeless aesthetics and culture’
Amsterdam-born Fanfaretti (stamped in silvery ink on the cover) pairs craft and design with ‘a positive outlook on life’, spotlighting makers, creatives and destination in the Netherlands and around Europe. It feels particularly satisfying in the hands, its cream matte pages pairing nicely with the soft-hued photography inside.
For this debut issue themed ‘Localism’, the team begin close to home with features on a perfumer, ceramicist, florist and glassblower—all based in Amsterdam—as well as trips to Lanzarote, Geneva, and the coast of Marseilles. The local stories are scattered throughout the issue and use an Amsterdam School-esque font as an identifying marker, the history of which you can learn about through an interview with designer Jolana Sykorova.
