The Paris Review #251

155 x 235 mm, 228 pages
New York, US
Quarterly
Published since 1953
Editor: Emily Stokes
Art director: Na Kim
Designer: Matt Willey

Originally published from Paris, the review moved to New York in the sixties but retained its name. It has built an enviable reputation for discovering the best new voices in fiction, non-fiction, and poetry while also presenting in depth interviews with established figures. It was recently smartly redesigned by Matt Willey, with a nod to earlier designs of the publication.

In this issue:

Margo Jefferson on the Art of Criticism: ‘Don’t you know my life story by now? I don’t experience fear.

Ludmilla Petrushevskaya on the Art of Fiction: ‘I’m a lousy reporter. If I’m not interested in the person—and sometimes you’re not if you’re just on assignment for a magazine—I’ll think, Well, why aren’t you interviewing me?

Prose by Amie Barrodale, Marie NDiaye, Zheng Zhi, A.M. Homes, Domenico Starnone and Miriam Toews.

Poetry by Abigail Dembo, Nasser Rabah, Susan Howe, D.A. Powell, Edward Salem, Nanna Storr-Hansen and Nora Fulton.

Plus art by Em Kettner, Lady Shalamar Montague and Agosto Machado; and a lovely cover by Anna Weyant.
