Terry Jones at Vogue

Ever wondered what British Vogue looked like when Terry Jones was art director, before he left to launch i-D? Here's the cover and some spreads from an issue dated 1 September 1975 that will have a familiar feel to anyone who enjoys i-D.

Apart from the actual fashion and a general lack of colour, these pages are remarkably modern and feature direct links to today's i-D in the type styling and simple relationships between text and image. The interest in fast design (stencilled and typewritten headlines, roughly cut-out pictures) is also evident ahead of i-D.
