‘Contemporary, art, design, photography, fashion and words’
Glossy-covered, pleasingly-sized Parisian magazine Matto is a ‘contemporary culture magazine, featuring conversations and studio visits.’ Inside, different paper stocks (largely matt) allow for a tactile, vibrant and visual reading experience. With interviews, photo series and more.
Issue nine for Winter 2025 is themed: ‘Il battito del tuo cuore’, which translates to ‘the beat of your heart’. Inside, you’ll find a 14-page conversation between Hans Ulrich Obrist and Steve McQueen reflecting on ‘Bounty’, McQueen’s recent exhibition at the Marian Goodman Gallery; a letter from Beirut, composed of fragments of conversations between Matthias Valigny Sabbagha and the visual artist Mayssa Khoury during Israel’s bombing of Lebanon; and a studio visit with graphic artist Ndayé Kouagou, who uses language as his primary medium.
