‘Cycling culture’
Independent road cycling staple Rouleur totes itself as ‘the finest cycling journal in the world’. The name? Rouleur [roo-ler] ‘a rider with strength and style who goes hard on all terrain’.
Rouleur’s 140th issue offers a space to pause and reflect on the past year and also considers how the cycling industry can work towards a fairer and more sustainable future. Split into three sections, ‘Départ’ commences with a polenta, mushrooms and roasted pumpkin recipe—evoking the colours and flavours of the season—whilst European time trial champion Marlen Reusser opens up about her secrets to success and her ideal way to spend a rest day. In section two, ‘Échapée,’ you’ll find a conversation with Ardennes classics winner and underdog, Mattias Skjelmose, plus, an insight into Rwanda’s first time hosting the UCI World Championships. Rounding off the issue, in ‘Arrivée’ Marta Cortizas, sommelier at the three-Michelin-starred restaurant El Celler de Can Roca, explores the Empordà DO cycle route in Catalonia, Spain.
