The exciting, new(ish) Ton is based on the premise that we are going through a new golden age of interiors, as our homes become places through which we express our personalities.
This Spring/Summer 2024 issue continues the magazine's pledge to ‘champion fun, personality, individuality, originality, and to celebrate all those who choose to live a different kind of life’ with its enticing new theme, Wild Things. Standout features include a tour of cover star George Rouy's converted 19th century church-home in Faversham, the excellent ‘Ju-rug-ssic Park’ shoot ft. a series of colourful rugs draped on a variety of life-sized plastic dinos, and Paul Gorman's report on how a deconsecrated graveyard for sex workers and dispossessed women in London was saved from development.
Plus, a spotlight on a new generation of makers, Cartier reimagined, trips to Brighton, Dover and Margate, satisfying topiary and plenty more eclectic and inspiring spaces and objects.
On the Journal
At work with Jermaine Gallacher: ‘The name Ton connotes weight and heft, but also society and community, which ties in with the magazine, which we want to reflect a community of fresh makers and tastemakers.’
