Aesthetica #128
210 x 297 mm, 148 pages
York, UK
Bimonthly
Editor: Cherie Federico
Creative producer: Eleanor Sutherland
Produced in the north of England, Aesthetica offers a much-welcomed, non London-centric view of art, design, photography and general culture.
This December/January 2026 issue embraces the in-between moment photography offers to ‘reflect our world and imagine its future’. This issue features three outstanding photographers: Anastasia Samoylova uses vivid colour and immersive photography to examine the American landscape as a site of ‘both mythmaking and fracture’; Brooke DiDonato crafts bizarre, yet meticulously staged scenes that seamlessly blend photography and installation; Andoni Beristain brings a sense of optimism through bold palettes, depicting large-scale outdoor still life subjects. Other photographers featured include Jordevity, Marco Wilm, Cig Harvey, and plenty more.
On the Journal:
‘We look for ‘art’ in the broadest sense, featuring works that are both visually engaging and conceptually or culturally important. There are layers to the images and pieces that we publish, all with ties to a rapidly changing world, from the climate crisis to conversations around social justice’ – Kate Simpson, Associate editor.
