‘Opinions on contemporary culture’
Blurring the lines between design, art, fashion and architecture, this 91st issue explores the theme of ‘Interconnectivity & Stewardship’ through a multitude of disciplines and lenses. The issue leans into the nurturing aspects of stewardship as opposed to its other more negative associations of ‘ownership and control’, examining how we can tend to existing design principles and objects to address future challenges without causing further damage to the planet.
From the editors: ‘Damn #91 is in itself a network, an ecosystem of ideas, material and people learning to coexist. Everything is connected; everything one does matters. Stewardship begins with this awareness and grows through the courage to act.’
Created in collaboration with OpenStructures—the Belgian creative studio founded by Thomas Lommée and Christiane Högner—the issue leads with a profile delving into the studio’s sustainable and modular design experimentations.
