The New York Review of Architecture heads west to LA, and with that change of place introduces a coyote mascot to join the New York rat across its pages and a green to replace its trademark second colour yellow.

Aside from that change of location, the issue features a familiar mix of opiniated columns, essays, criticism and more: how LA is dealing with the presence of Waymo driverless taxis on its streets, a look at the potential effects of the wildfires on the Altadena district of the city, and the extremes of advertising to be found to day on Sunset Strip—once a barometer of west coast cool, now an ‘open air media lab intended to replenish West Hollywood’s coffers amid uncertain economic times.’

On the Journal
At Work With Samuel Medina: ‘It’s important to us that NYRA feels rooted in New York City, by which I don’t just mean Manhattan or North Brooklyn but also Queens, the Bronx, the rest of Kings County, even Staten Island (within limits). We tend to prioritize working writers over academics or practicing designers, but we’re interested in working with anyone who can write creatively and critically about the city.’
