With a founding date of 1854, BJP is the world’s oldest and longest running photography magazine. But age has not caused it to stagnate—as they say, it’s ‘not your usual game of picture karaoke.’ This latest edition, themed ‘Body Talk’, examines the photographic representation of bodies, in the light of Martin Jay’s ideas of dispassionate and neutral approaches to the subject.
As ever, the issue begins by highlighting notable upcoming exhibitions and events, among them the rehang of the V&A South Kensington Photography Centre.
Also inside: curator Mark Sealy reflects on the 2026 Triennial of Photography Hamburg; and the ways the body and desire are portrayed in China is explored through the lens of four contemporary Chinese artists—Shen Wei, Yushi Li, ZHang Zhou and Luo Yang.
