‘The Slow Journal’

First published in 2024, Lohi has fast become a staple of our travel shelf, with a focus on slow lifestyles, meaning a preference for local authenticity, organic and sustainable practices, and a holistic approach to travel and tourism. Its bookish format is handy for travel, and the layouts are direct and simple, avoiding the clichés of the slow movement, and packed with photography from the many destinations.

This edition hones in on Lohi’s ‘slow’ ethos by introducing readers to a selection of independent artists and artisans from across the globe. Inside, a deep dive into Finnish architect Juhani Pallasmaa’s multisensory approach to design, a meeting with ceramicist Calle Forsberg at his home studio on the outskirts of Stockholm, and an interview with founders of the Grow Restaurant, a fine dining establishment with a menu inspired by the Lombardian landscape of Italy.
