A large-format, matte-papered magazine from Istanbul exploring a variety of different themes within and connections between the wider subjects of art and society.
This 20th issue for Autumn/Winter 2025 is titled ‘Phantasmata’, the Greek word for ‘images’, or ‘apparitions’. With paintings and photographs both eccentric and confronting, the work inside the issue seeks to provide a creative response to ‘the thin line between reason and unreason, where madness swells—like a collective, intimate echo within us.’ Featuring an interview with Nadia Lee Cohen on how she weaves cinema and social mythology into her distinctive visual language; an evocative painting series by Guim Tiō, depicting rolling landscapes and subjects that feel equally present and distant; and a conversation with AI artist Alkan Avcioğlu, who examines how society is ‘slowly losing it’.
