Kinfolk has become so familiar that it’s hard to imagine just how radical its minimal, proto-mindfulness, clean lines and clean living aesthetic was when it first appeared back in 2011.

This is the Friendship Issue, opening with the iconic refrain from the ‘Friends’ theme song, ‘I’ll be there for you.’ Specifically, it’s about platonic rather than romantic friendship, asking ‘Where are the limits of compassion’, for instance.

There’s also an intriguing piece, unlinked to the issue theme, led by another question, ‘Can the right make good art?’
