'Wandering but not lost'
Sporting a typically graphic, tatreez-inspired cover, this seventh issue of cultural theory mag Errant is themed ‘Embodying Resistance’, using essays and ephemera relating to Palestine as a reference to explore the roles that the body and the self play in forms of resistance and liberation struggles.
The issue is guest edited by Ghiwa Sayegh of feminist journal Kohl, who conceived of the theme months before October 7, making its current publication even more pertinent amidst the ongoing supression of pro-Palestinian support. As editor Irene de Craen writes:
‘It is here that that, in my opinion, independent publishing shows one of its greatest values in creating a space free from such control that can be shared across borders in order to give shape to a discourse that... antagonizes, contradicts, subverts, disobeys, and most importantly resists.’
On the Journal
At work with Irene de Craen: ‘(The magazine) provides me with the ideal form to work on the questions I’ve had for many years. And considering my long term relation with and love for printed matter, it really makes more sense than anything I’ve done before.’
